The True Meaning and History of ExoDev
Meaning
ExoDev is a term I created to embody my passion for indie game development that I created back in the 1990's. I did not use the word “Exo,” derived from Greek for “outside”. I literally took it from the word "Exotic" which reflects my different and unusual exploration beyond conventional development paths, while “Dev” stands for developer. Together, ExoDev represents my unique journey in game programming and sharing programming knowledge independently.
History
I registered the domain exodev.com on December 20, 2001, establishing my online presence as a hopeful indie game developer. Since then, this website has served as a platform to document my learning process with game development. Yes it has seen many faces from DirectX 7 game engine developments to Dark Basic Pro, Blitz Basic Programming, and even Unity and Unreal. so now... It's all about the GODOT Game Engine! ( "ExoDev” has nothing to do with web development, exosuits or boat construction )
